Reasons why I love Jim

We both come from fairly large families and we remain close to our parents and siblings. We also share our house with two cats, Sebastian (Sebbie) and Loki.

Jim has 2 living brothers and 1 sister. Rodney, Dick, and Katy are all older than Jim. Jim's youngest brother, Tom, died in 2001. Along with Jim's mother, Lea, and her second husband, Miles Standish, his siblings all live in Arizona, as do most of his cousins.

My own parents, Marilyn and Charles Prince, lived nearby for many years. Dad died in 2005, and Mom died this year, in February. I miss them both very much. Mom and I were great friends and had many fun times.

I have three younger brothers, Ben, George and Charles, in that order. Alta was a great place to grow up, which is why my brother, Ben, and I live here now.

Ben and his wife, Kathy, George and his wife, Dee, and Jim and I bought land along the same quarter-mile dead-end road, which used to be a local short-cut to the local swimming pool. Ben and Kathy and Jim and I have built homes. George and Dee are planning to build a house here, perhaps starting as soon as summer 2005, between our existing two homes. George and Dee live in San Carlos with their children, Hannah and Nick, and their dog, Sami.

Charles, my youngest brother, and his wife, Arlene, live in San Francisco. They bought the family home when Mom moved in 2006, which is terrific for all concerned. His two children, Emily and Steven, also live in the city. Emily's living with her husband, Shaun O'Dell, working on her art and an MFA at Berkeley. Steven's going to San Francisco State, living with Charles and Arlene.
